Terms of Service

Last updated 11 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and 1500prep (“we”, “us”) for using 1500prep.com and everything on it. By creating an account, opening a student link or buying a plan, you agree to them. How we handle personal data is in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

The short version

  • You must be 13 or older. Under 18, a parent or guardian agrees to these terms for you. Clause 1
  • A new student account has everything for its first 7 days, then the free plan. Nothing is charged unless you buy. Clause 5
  • Questions are written by an AI model and checked, but mistakes are possible. Clause 4
  • Polar takes the payment. Subscriptions renew until you cancel in Settings. Clauses 6 and 7
  • Payments are final: no refunds, except where the law requires. Clause 8

This summary helps you find your way; the clauses below are the terms.

  1. 1.Who can use 1500prep

    You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you may use 1500prep only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who has read these terms and agrees to them on your behalf, and who is responsible for your use of the service, including any purchase.

    A parent or guardian may create an account for their student. The account belongs to the student, who signs in with it; the person who created it remains responsible for it while the student is under 18.

    If you sign up as a tutor and add students, you confirm that you are entitled to enter their details and to share their student links with them, and, for a student under 18, that their parent or guardian knows they use 1500prep through you.

  2. 2.Your account

    • Give accurate details when you sign up, and keep them up to date.
    • An account is for one person. Don't share your login or let others use your account.
    • Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us at hello@1500prep.com if you think someone else has used it.
    • A student added by a tutor works from a private link instead of an account. Whoever holds the link can see and answer that student's worksheets, so it must not be shared. A tutor can reset a link at any time, which stops the old one working.
    • The account type (student or tutor) is chosen at sign-up and cannot be changed.
  3. 3.What 1500prep is

    1500prep is practice for the digital SAT: question sets in Math and Reading & Writing, answers checked as you go, explanations of every answer, and a record of which question types you have cleared and which need work. Tutors can keep a list of students and assign them work.

    SAT is a trademark of the College Board, which is not involved with 1500prep and does not endorse it. Our questions are written to resemble the exam; no real exam question is reproduced.

    1500prep is a study tool. We do not promise any particular score, admission or other result.

  4. 4.Questions written by a model

    Questions, explanations and chat replies are written by an AI language model. Questions in the bank have been checked by an independent second solve and are reviewed by professionals. A question generated on demand for you might be checked by a person afterwards. Occasionally these questions might contain errors; mistakes by our models are possible.

    Treat answer keys and explanations as a study aid, not a final authority. If something looks wrong, tell us with the question's number; that is how the bank gets better.

  5. 5.Free and paid plans

    First week. A new student account has everything a paid plan includes for its first 7 days, within the same daily limits, with no payment and no card. It then moves to the free plan on its own; nothing is charged and nothing is renewed. Question sets started in that week do not count against the free plan.

    Free. After that, a student account starts with 10 free question sets, then gets one more set every 24 hours. Free accounts practise half the skills of every domain, from the question bank; full modules, the other half and new questions written on demand come with a paid plan. The chat is limited to fewer messages a day on the free plan.

    Paid. The plans on sale, what each includes and what it costs are on the pricing page. A paid plan raises the free limits; it does not remove the fair-use limits below.

    Fair use. The number of new questions any one account can have generated is constrained by token rate limits. Worksheets drawn from the existing question bank are not affected. The limits are set so that ordinary study never reaches them.

    A student on a tutor's list answers the work their tutor assigns under the tutor's plan. Starting question sets of their own needs a plan of their own.

  6. 6.Payment

    Purchases are processed by Polar (polar.sh), which sells our plans as merchant of record. Polar takes the payment, charges any sales tax or VAT, and issues the receipt, and Polar's buyer terms apply to the purchase itself. We never see or store your card details.

    • Prices are in US dollars and include tax where tax applies. If your card is in another currency, your bank converts the amount and may add its own fee.
    • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price then in effect, until you cancel. We will tell you before a price change reaches you.
    • Tutor trial. The tutor plan starts with a 30-day free trial. A credit card is required to start it, and the first payment is taken when the trial ends unless you cancel before then.
    • Seats. A tutor plan is priced by active students. Adding seats during a billing period is charged for the rest of that period only.
    • Exam pass. An exam pass is one payment for access until the SAT date you choose. It does not renew and ends on that date.
    • Discounts. A founding-member price applies for as long as that subscription continues without a break and is paid with the same payment method. It ends if the subscription is cancelled or lapses, or if the payment method is changed. Promotional codes apply only as described when they are issued and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  7. 7.Cancelling

    You can cancel a subscription at any time from Settings, under Manage billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep everything the plan includes until the end of the period already paid for. After that the account goes back to the free plan, and your worksheets, answers and results stay where they are.

  8. 8.No refunds

    All payments are final and non-refundable, including for a period you did not use in full, for a cancelled subscription and for an exam pass, except where the law requires otherwise.

    1500prep is a digital service that starts the moment a purchase completes. By buying, you ask for access to begin immediately and acknowledge that, where the law allows it, you give up any right to withdraw from the purchase once access has begun.

  9. 9.Using 1500prep fairly

    You agree not to:

    • copy, scrape, download in bulk, publish or resell questions, explanations or other content;
    • use scripts, bots or automated tools to create worksheets or generate questions;
    • get around the plan limits, for example with several free accounts;
    • try to break, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service;
    • use 1500prep to cheat on a real exam, or to build a competing product;
    • send anything unlawful, abusive or harmful through the follow-up chat or to us.

    A tutor may print or share worksheets with their own students; that is what the tutor plan is for.

  10. 10.The follow-up chat

    After a worksheet is submitted you can ask about a question you answered. The chat is for help with that question only: other topics get a fixed reply, and it is limited to a number of messages a day. It is not a counselling service. If you are worried about something other than the exam, talk to a parent, a teacher or someone you trust.

  11. 11.Who owns what

    The questions, explanations, software and design of 1500prep are ours or our licensors'. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own study, or, as a tutor, for teaching your own students, for as long as you have an account.

    What you put in, such as your answers and, for a tutor, the names of their students, stays yours. You allow us to store and process it as needed to run the service, as the Privacy Policy describes.

  12. 12.Ending your use

    You can stop using 1500prep at any time, and ask us at hello@1500prep.com to delete your account and everything in it. Deletion is permanent.

    We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after a warning where that is reasonable. If an account is closed for breaking these terms, payments already made are not refunded.

  13. 13.Changes to the service

    1500prep is young and changes often. We may add, change or remove features, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. If we remove something a paid plan was sold with while that plan is running, we will tell you first.

  14. 14.Liability

    The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we give no warranties beyond those these terms state, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as a missed deadline or a lower score than hoped.

    As far as the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the three months before the claim arose and US$100.

    Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in.

  15. 15.Changes to these terms

    We may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed. If a change matters to you, for example to payment or to what a plan includes, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Using 1500prep after that means you accept the new terms; if you don't, you can cancel and stop using it.

  16. 16.Law and disputes

    These terms are governed by applicable law. If you use 1500prep as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in, and nothing in these terms takes it away. If something goes wrong, please write to us first; most problems are solved faster that way.
